Quickbooks Pro 2007 Canadian Edition

Category:

Finance

Problems:

Same original problem as previous versions of Quickbooks, plus performs apparently random security checks to determine what account type it is running under.

Apparently refuses to run on limited accounts regardless of changes to a computer's security settings, or changes to file system or registry security settings. Therefore, Quickbooks 2007 will not run on Windows XP Home Edition, and will not run on Windows XP Professional in Simple File Sharing mode. It will likely not run on Windows Vista without multiple User Account Control prompts.

NOTE: It appears this behaviour does not occur on the USA version of Quickbooks 2007, but antiwindowscatalog.com has not yet reviewed the USA version.

Workarounds:

None. Continue using prior versions of Quickbooks along with recommended workarounds, or switch to an alternate small business accounting system such as Simply Accounting or Microsoft Small Business Accounting.
