Spark 2.5.8

Problems:

Java application installs using non-standard JAR executable files, which are converted at first launch. This conversion cannot occur as a non-administrator.

Spark's MSI installer does not uninstall correctly, leaving a "ghost" entry in Add or Remove Programs that requires the MSI Cleanup Utility to remove.

Both of these conditions make installation and uninstallation using Group Policy Objects impractical.

Workarounds:

Install the currently supported Java Virtual Machine before installing Spark, and use the alternate MSI installer (19 MB) developed by Pan-Am.

This installer requires that a current version of Java is already installed. It is similar to the Spark Online Installer. Its JAR files are prepared to work without additional preparation.

Alternately, install Spark 2.5.8 and launch once normally as an administrator. This causes the initial preparation to occur. Vista users will receive UAC prompts during this first time process.
