Category:

Problems:

Your user account for Windows was created with Restricted access to system resources.
This will prevent QuickBooks from operating properly.
Please contact your system administrator and ask him or her to grant you Standard user rights.

Workarounds:

If using a USA edition of Quickbooks, upgrade to Quickbooks 2007 and install all needed updates for it.

Alternately, switch to Simply Accounting.

Or, grant Modify access to the Users local group for the following resources on your computer:

C:\WINDOWS\Intuit
C:\Program Files\Intuit
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT (the entire registry key)

This latter workaround may expose your Quickbooks installation, and your Windows file type associations, to abuse by limited users.
