Goldwave 5.10 and earlier

Category:

Media, Audio

Problems:

Settings and presets could not be found.
If GoldWave was installed by a different user, please run the installation program to install the settings for this user.

Goldwave does not retain registration information, and acts like its Shareware version, as a Limited User. From the Goldwave troubleshooter web site:

If you are using v4 on a Windows NT/2000/XP system, Administrator privileges may be required.

However, v5 also loses registration between users, and generates the "Settings and Presets" dialog above.

Workarounds:

As Goldwave registration appears to be stored per-user, the user can simply reenter their registration key the first time they use it as a new user. An Administrator must also move or copy the Goldwave program group from their profile's Start Menu to the "All Users" profile's Start Menu.

The program appears to run regardless of the Settings dialog that appears. Settings are also saved per-user.
