Product:

Open Office 2.0 and earlier

Category:

Productivity

Problems:

Versions prior to 2.0 did not support multiple users, requiring administrators to 'reinstall' Open Office for each user on a computer using a complicated network-based installation method.
Version 2.0 corrected the multi-user shortcoming but still stored user-defined spell check dictionaries and other data in the installation folder.

Workarounds:

Remove any prior version of Open Office and install Open Office 2.0.2 or later.
Version 2.0.2 uses Windows Installer technology, which supports multiple users and Group Policy-based installations.
