RMS exerted 'malign influence' on followers

Written by Gordon Fecyk, 10/11/2011

OKAY, I'LL ADMIT IT. I wouldn't have a career in IT were it not for Steve Jobs. Apple's release in 1984 forced the whole, "Mac on PC" transformation we now know as Windows. And that transformation allowed an Amiga geek like myself to make the jump from desktop user to network administrator, by virtue of being able to see what I was doing in all of its GUI gooey glory.

There, I put forth some grudging respect. I hope the man rests in peace. Which is more than I can say for this fellow, who instead of paying at least some respect for the man who somewhat helped his cause, decided to roast him alive... okay that was a bad choice of words but still better than his.

Of course this is the same man who disapproved of civil agencies using Linux. There's nothing quite like watching two religious factions duking it out.

I'M NOT GLAD HE'S DEAD, BUT I'M GLAD HE'S GONE. That is a speech one gives about dead crime lords, not dead CEOs. I don't care who he is or what he's fighting against, but he just shot his cause all to Hell for me. That move is even beneath Stephen Harper. It's beneath Republicans. I'd tell the man to look into a mirror and say that quote again, but... given how the man looks I wouldn't wish that on anybody.

Mister "Root Mean Square" should take a look back on the path he's walked before roasting his comrades in public. After all, were it not for Steve Jobs, his "gnomes" wouldn't have a gooey GUI to stand on.
